وَأَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ أنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ثنا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ هُوَ الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ قَالَ وَلَا أُرَاهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ فَأَرْشَدَ اللهُ الْأَئِمَّةَ وَغَفَرَ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِينَ
English Translation
It is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The obligatory prayer of a man in congregation is twenty-five times more meritorious than his prayer in his house or market. When he performs ablution well, then goes out to the mosque with no purpose other than prayer, every step he takes raises him a degree and erases a sin. When he prays, the angels keep supplicating for him as long as he is in his place of prayer: O Allah, bless him, O Allah have mercy on him. One of you is in a state of prayer as long as the prayer keeps him.'
