أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ الطُّوسِيُّ بِهَا أنبأ أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْمُحَمَّدَآبَاذِيُّ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ حَسَّانَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ كَنَحْوٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِكُمُ الَّتِي تُصَلُّونَ الْيَوْمَ وَلَكِنَّهُ كَانَ يُخَفِّفُ كَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ أَخَفَّ مِنْ صَلَاتِكُمْ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ الْوَاقِعَةَ وَنَحْوَهَا مِنَ السُّوَرِ
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray the prayers at approximately the same length as your prayers today, but he used to make them lighter. His prayer was lighter than your prayer. He used to recite al-Waqi'ah and similar surahs in the Fajr prayer.'
