أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو طَاهِرٍ ال��فَقِيهُ وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْمُزَكِّي وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أنبأ أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا نَعَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيَرْقُدْ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ عَنْهُ النَّوْمُ فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا صَلَّى وَهُوَ نَاعِسٌ لَعَلَّهُ يَذْهَبُ يَسْتَغْفِرُ فَيَسُبُّ نَفْسَهُ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو نَصْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْقَاضِي وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ الْفَضْلِ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْعُمَرِيُّ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ وَمَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ فَذَكَرُوا الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِهِ
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "A man's prayer in congregation is twenty-five times better than his prayer in his house or marketplace. When he performs wudu well, then goes to the mosque with no purpose except prayer, his rank is raised one degree and one sin is removed with every step, until he enters the mosque. When he is in the mosque, he is in prayer as long as the prayer keeps him. The angels pray for one of you as long as he remains in his place of prayer, saying: 'O Allah, forgive him. O Allah, have mercy on him' — as long as he does not break his wudu."
