أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ الْبَصْرَةَ سَمِعَ أَهْلَ الْبَصْرَةِ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَحَادِيثَ فَكَتَبَ إِلَى أَبِي مُوسَى يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْهَا فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ أَبُو مُوسَى إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ يمْشَى إِذْ مَالَ فَقَعَدَ إِلَى جَنْبِ حَائِطٍ فَبَالَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانَ إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُهُمْ فَأَصَابَ جَسَدَهُ الْبَوْلُ قَرَضَهُ بِالْمَقَارِيضِ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَبُولَ فَلْيَرْتَدْ لِبَوْلِهِ
English Translation
Abu Musa narrated that Ibn Abbas came to Basra and heard the people of Basra narrating hadiths from Abu Musa from the Prophet (peace be upon him). He wrote to Abu Musa asking about them. Abu Musa wrote back: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was walking when he turned aside and sat near a wall and urinated. He said: 'The Children of Israel, when one of them was touched by urine, would cut away the affected skin with scissors. When one of you wants to urinate, let him choose a suitable place for it.'"
