أنبأ أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ الْإِمَامُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ لَيْسَ أَبُوعُبَيْدَةَ ذَكَرَهُ وَلَكِنْ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ أَتَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْغَائِطَ فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آتِيَهُ بِثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ فَوَجَدْتُ حَجَرَيْنِ وَالْتَمَسْتُ الثَّالِثَةَ فَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ فَأَخَذْتُ رَوْثَةً فَأَتَيْتُ بِهِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخَذَ الْحَجَرَيْنِ وَأَلْقَى الرَّوْثَةَ وَقَالَ هَذِهِ رِكْسٌ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ
English Translation
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) went to relieve himself and ordered me to bring him three stones. I found two stones and searched for a third but could not find one, so I took a piece of dung and brought them to the Prophet (peace be upon him). He took the two stones and threw away the dung, saying, 'This is filth.' Al-Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih from Abu Nu'aym from Zuhayr.
