أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ هُشَيْمٌ (ح) قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ كُنَّا نَحْرِزُ قِيَامَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فَحَرَزْنَا قِيَامَهُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ قَدْرَ قِرَاءَةِ الم تَنْزِيلُ السَّجْدَةِ وَحَرَزْنَا قِيَامَهُ فِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ قَدْرَ النِّصْفِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَحَرَزْنَا قِيَامَهُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ عَلَى قَدْرِ قِيَامِهِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ وَفِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى وَأَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, from Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq, from Isma'il ibn Qutaybah, from Yahya ibn Yahya, from Hushaym. And from Abu al-Walid, from al-Hasan ibn Sufyan, from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, from Hushaym, from Mansur, from al-Walid ibn Muslim, from Abu al-Siddiq, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri who said: We used to estimate the standing of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the Dhuhr and Asr prayers. We estimated his standing in the first two rak'ahs of Dhuhr to be the length of reciting "Alif Lam Mim Tanzil" [Surah al-Sajdah], and his standing in the last two rak'ahs to be about half of that. We estimated his standing in the first two rak'ahs of Asr to be the length of his standing in the last two rak'ahs of Dhuhr, and in the last two rak'ahs of Asr to be about half of that. This is the wording of Yahya ibn Yahya's hadith. Muslim narrated it in his Sahih from Yahya ibn Yahya and Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah.
