أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مِلْحَانَ قَالَا ثنا يَحْيَى هُوَ ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ أَنَّ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُدَيْجٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى يَوْمًا فَانْصَرَفَ وَقَدْ بَقِيَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ رَكْعَةٌ فَأَدْرَكَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ نَسِيتَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ رَكْعَةً فَرَجَعَ فَدَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ رَكْعَةً فَأَخْبَرْتُ بِذَلِكَ النَّاسَ فَقَالُوا وَتَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلَ؟ قُلْتُ لَا إِلَّا أَنْ أَرَاهُ فَمَرَّ بِيَ فَقُلْتُ هُوَ هَذَا فَقَالُوا هَذَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ
English Translation
Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdan informed us... from Mu'awiyah ibn Hudayj that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed one day and finished, but one rak'ah remained from the prayer. A man caught up with him and said: You forgot a rak'ah from the prayer. So he went back and entered the mosque and ordered Bilal to call the iqamah, then he prayed one rak'ah with the people. I told the people about that and they said: Do you know the man? I said: No, unless I see him. Then he passed by me and I said: This is him. They said: This is Talhah ibn Ubaydillah.
