English Translation
A man from Egypt narrated to Nafi' that he prayed the Fajr prayer with Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) at al-Jabiyah, and he recited the surah in which al-Hajj is mentioned, and he prostrated in it two prostrations. Nafi' said: When he finished, he said: This surah has been favored with two prostrations. And Ibn Umar used to prostrate in it two prostrations. This narration from Umar, although through Nafi' it is in the sense of mursal due to Nafi' not naming the Egyptian who informed him, the first narration from Abdullah ibn Tha'labah ibn Su'ayr from Umar is an authentic connected narration, and likewise the narration of Nafi' from Ibn Umar is connected.
