وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ إِذَا وَجَدْتَ الْإِمَامَ عَلَى حَالٍ فَاصْنَعْ كَمَا يَصْنَعُ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مَعْنَى هَذَا مَرْفُوعًا مِنْ حَدِيثِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Sa'id ibn Abi Amr informed us, they said: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Usayd ibn Asim narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn Hafs narrated to us from Sufyan, Ja'far ibn Burqan narrated to us from Nafi' from Ibn Umar who said: When you find the imam in any state, do as he does. The meaning of this has been narrated in marfu' form from the hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal.
