Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ya'qub informed us, Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya informed us, Abu al-Walid narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Sa'id ibn Amr ibn Sa'id ibn al-As narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to me from his father who said: I was with Uthman when he called for his ablution water and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: 'There is no Muslim who, when the time for an obligatory prayer comes, perfects his ablution, humility, and bowing, except that it is an expiation for the sins before it, as long as he does not commit a major sin. And that is for all time.'
