قَالَ وَثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ مِنْهَالٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا بَنِيَّ اقْرَءُوا فِي سَكْتَةِ الْإِمَامِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا تَتِمُّ صَلَاةٌ إِلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا بَنِيَّ اقْرَءُوا فِي سَكْتَةِ الْإِمَامِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا تَتِمُّ صَلَاةٌ إِلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ
English Translation
Regarding passing in front of a praying person: Abu Juhaym narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If the one who passes in front of a praying person knew what is upon him, it would be better for him to stand for forty than to pass in front of him." Abu al-Nadr said: "I do not know whether he said forty days, months, or years."
