أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَهْلٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ أنا أَبُو يَحْيَى عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أنا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَا أَخْب��رَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيُّ عَنْ حُمْرَانَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ ؓ دَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَأفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ مِنْ إِنَائِهِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَمِينَهُ فِي الْوَضُوءِ ثُمَّ تَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَيَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ كُلَّ رِجْلٍ مِنْ رِجْلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ نَحْوَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ مِثْلَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا يُحَدِّثُ فِيهِمَا نَفْسَهُ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ
English Translation
Humran, the freed slave of Uthman ibn Affan, saw Uthman call for water for ablution. He poured water over his hands from the vessel and washed them three times. Then he put his right hand in the water, rinsed his mouth, sniffed water into his nose, and blew it out. Then he washed his face three times, his arms to the elbows three times, wiped his head, and washed each foot three times. Then he said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) perform ablution like this ablution of mine.' Then he said: 'Whoever performs ablution like this ablution of mine and then stands and prays two rak'ahs without letting his mind wander in them, his previous sins will be forgiven.'
