وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ ثنا يُونُسُ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ كَانَ بِلَالٌ لَا يَحْذِمُ الْأَذَانَ وَكَانَ رُبَّمَا أَخَّرَ الْإِقَامَةَ شَيْئًا وَقَدْ مَضَى قَوْلُهُ كَانَ بِلَالٌ يُؤَذِّنُ إِذَا دَحَضَتِ الشَّمْسُ كَانَ بِلَالٌ لَا يَحْذِمُ الْأَذَانَ وَكَانَ رُبَّمَا أَخَّرَ الْإِقَامَةَ شَيْئًا وَقَدْ مَضَى قَوْلُهُ كَانَ بِلَالٌ يُؤَذِّنُ إِذَا دَحَضَتِ الشَّمْسُ
English Translation
Mu'adh ibn Jabal led the Isha prayer and prolonged it. A man left and prayed alone. Mu'adh was told and he said about the man: "He is a hypocrite." The man went to the Prophet who said to Mu'adh: "Are you someone who causes tribulation? Recite such-and-such surah" — naming shorter surahs.
