English Translation
Abu al-Qasim Abd al-Khaliq ibn Ali ibn Abd al-Khaliq al-Mu'adhdhin informed us: Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Khanb reported to us: Abu Isma'il Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Tirmidhi narrated to us: Ayyub ibn Sulayman ibn Bilal narrated to us: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Uways narrated to me, from Sulayman ibn Bilal, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'id, from Abu Humayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not lawful for a person to take his brother's staff without his willing consent" — and that is because of the severity with which Allah has forbidden [taking] the property of a Muslim [belonging] to a Muslim. Ibn Wahb narrated it from Sulayman ibn Bilal, from Suhayl, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'd, from Abu Humayd. And Abd al-Malik ibn al-Hasan narrated it from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sa'id, from Umarah ibn Harithah al-Damri, from Amr ibn Yathribi al-Damri, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It has already passed in the Book of Usurpation (al-Ghasb). He is Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'd ibn Malik, and he is Ibn Abi Sa'id al-Khudri, as al-Bukhari stated.
