Abu Amr al-Adib informed us, Abu Bakr al-Isma'ili informed me, al-Haytham ibn Khalaf al-Duri and Abdullah ibn Salih informed us, they said: Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us saying: I heard my father say: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak informed us from Yunus, from Uqayl, from Ibn Shihab, from Urwah, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she used to prescribe talbinah [a barley broth] for the sick and the one grieving over the deceased, and she would say: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: 'Talbinah soothes the heart of the sick person and relieves some of the grief.'"
