أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ حَيَّانَ أَبُو الشَّيْخِ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى الْأَلْثَغُ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ عَنِ الْجَهْمِ بْنِ جَارُودٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ ؓ أُهْدِيَ بُخْتِيَّةً لَهُ قَدْ أُعْطِيَ بِهَا ثَلَاثَمِائَةِ دِينَارٍ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَبِيعَهَا وَيَشْتَرِيَ بِثَمَنِهَا بُدْنًا فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَنْحَرَهَا وَلَا يَبِيعَهَا كَذَا قَالَ بُخْتِيَّةً لَهُ
English Translation
Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith al-Asbahani informed us, Abu Muhammad ibn Hayyan Abu al-Shaykh informed us, Ahmad ibn al-Hasan ibn Abd al-Jabbar informed us, Ali ibn Isa al-Althagh al-Mukharrimi narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Salamah narrated to us from Abu Abd al-Rahim from al-Jahm ibn Jarud from Salim ibn Abdullah from his father that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was gifted a Bactrian she-camel for which he had been offered three hundred dinars. He wanted to sell it and buy sacrificial camels with its price. He asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about that, and he ordered him to slaughter it and not sell it. The narrator said: "A Bactrian she-camel of his."
