أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا الْأُسْتَاذُ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْإِسْفِرَايِينِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رِزْمَوَيْهِ ثنا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ غَالِبٍ النَّسَوِيُّ قَالَا ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ؓ قَالَ حَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ خَصْلَتَيْنِ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذِّبْحَةَ وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq informed us, Isma'il ibn Qutaybah narrated to us. And the Professor Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Isfara'ini informed us, Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Rizmawayh informed us, Abu Zakariyya Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Ghalib al-Nasawi narrated to us, they said: Yahya ibn Yahya informed us, Hushaym informed us from Khalid al-Hadhdha' from Abu Qilabah from Abu al-Ash'ath al-San'ani from Shaddad ibn Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I memorized two things from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: "Indeed, Allah the Blessed has prescribed excellence in everything. When you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and give comfort to his animal."
