وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الرَّزَّازُ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنبأ دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدَ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَذْبَحَنَّ أَحَدٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ خَالِي فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ هَذَا الْيَوْمَ فِيهِ اللَّحْمُ كَثِيرٌ وَإِنِّي ذَبَحْتُ نَسِيكَتِي لِيَأْكُلَ أَهْلِي وَجِيرَانِي وَإِنَّ عِنْدِي عَنَاقَ لَبَنٍ خَيْرٌ مِنْ شَاةِ لَحْمٍ فَأَذْبَحُهَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَلَا تُجْزِي جَذَعَةٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ وَهِيَ خَيْرُ نَسِيكَتِكَ
English Translation
And Abu al-Husayn ibn Bishran al-'Adl informed us in Baghdad, Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Amr al-Razzaz informed us, Ali ibn Ibrahim al-Wasiti narrated to us, Yazid ibn Harun informed us, Dawud ibn Abi Hind informed us from Amir from al-Bara' ibn Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one should slaughter before praying." My maternal uncle stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is a day when meat is abundant. I slaughtered my sacrifice so that my family and neighbors could eat. I have a young milk-goat better than a sheep of meat. Shall I slaughter it?" He said: "Yes, but a young one will not suffice for anyone after you, and it is the best of your sacrifices."
