أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ أَوْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ الشَّكُّ مِنْ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا ضَحَّى دَعَا بِكَبْشَيْنِ عَظِيمَيْنِ سَمِينَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ مُوجَأَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ فَذَبَحَ أَحَدَهُمَا عَنْ أُمَّتِهِ مَنْ شَهِدَ لَهُ بِالْبَلَاغِ وَشَهِدَ لِلَّهِ بِالتَّوْحِيدِ وَيَذْبَحُ الْآخَرَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq informed us, Muhammad ibn Ghalib informed us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) or Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) - the doubt is from Sufyan - who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed, he would call for two large, fat, salt-and-pepper colored, castrated, horned rams. He would slaughter one for his nation - those who testified to his message and testified to Allah's oneness - and he would slaughter the other for Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
