English Translation
And Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Hamdan al-Jallab informed us, Hilal ibn al-Ala' al-Raqqi narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from Asim ibn Kulayb from his father who said: We were on a military expedition with a man from Banu Sulaym called Mujashi'. Sheep became scarce, so he ordered a caller to announce: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Indeed, a young sheep from the ewes suffices for what a two-year-old suffices for."
