English Translation
Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdan informed us, Ahmad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, al-Baghandi narrated to us, Qabisah narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from Asim ibn Kulayb from his father who said: We were on a military expedition, and with us or over us was Mujashi' ibn Mas'ud, a companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Sheep became scarce, so he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "A young sheep suffices for what a two-year-old suffices for."
