English Translation
Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, we are in a land of the People of the Book, so shall we eat from their vessels? And we are in a hunting land, and I hunt with my bow, with my trained dog, and with my untrained dog. He said: As for the vessels of the People of the Book, if you can find others, do not eat from them, and if you cannot, wash them and eat from them. What you catch with your bow, mention Allah's name and eat. What your trained dog catches, mention Allah's name and eat. What your untrained dog catches, if you reach it alive, slaughter it.
