أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ فَحَدَّثَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ جَاءَهُ رَسُولَا مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ بِكِتَابِهِ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَهُمَا وَأَنْتُمَا تَقُولَانِ مِثْلَمَا يَقُولُ؟ فَقَالَا نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَمَا وَاللهِ لَوْلَا أَنَّ الرُّسُلَ لَا تُقْتَلُ لَضَرَبْتُ أَعْنَاقَكُمَا
English Translation
Abu 'Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Sa'id ibn Abi 'Amr said: Abu al-'Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Jabbar al-'Utaridi narrated to us, Yunus ibn Bukayr narrated to us from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Sa'd ibn Tariq narrated to me from Salamah ibn Nu'aym ibn Mas'ud, from his father, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when the two messengers of Musaylimah the Liar came to him with his letter. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to them: "And do you two say the same as he says?" They said: "Yes." He said: "By Allah, were it not that messengers are not killed, I would have struck off your heads."
