أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ إِمْلَاءً ثنا أَبُو الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَالْحَدِيثُ لِمُحَمَّدٍ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَذَّنَ لَيْلَةً بِالْعِشَاءِ بِضَجْنَانَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ وَقَالَ عَلَى إِثْرِ ذَلِكَ أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُسَدَّدٍ وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever says upon hearing the mu'adhdhin: 'I testify that there is no god but Allah alone with no partner, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and messenger; I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Muhammad as Messenger, and with Islam as religion' — his sins are forgiven."
