أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْوَرَّاقُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ثنا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْزُوَ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ إِنَّ مِنْ إِخْوَانِكُمْ قَوْمًا لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مَالٌ وَلَا عَشِيرَةٌ فَلْيَضُمَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَيْهِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ أَوِ الثَّلَاثَةَ فَمَا لِأَحَدِنَا مِنْ ظَ��ْرِ جَمَلٍ إِلَّا عُقْبَةٌ كَعُقْبَةِ أَحَدِهِمْ قَالَ فَضَمَمْتُ إِلِيَّ اثْنَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً مَا لِي عُقْبَةٌ إِلَّا كَعُقْبَةِ أَحَدِهِمْ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, from Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Warraq, from al-Hasan ibn Sufyan, from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, from Abidah ibn Humayd, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Nubayh al-Anazi, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) who, when he intended to go on a military expedition, said: O community of Muhajirun and Ansar, among your brothers are people who have neither wealth nor clan, so let each one of you take two or three men with him. None of us has a turn on the back of a camel except like the turn of any one of them. He said: So I took two or three with me, and my turn on the camel was no more than the turn of any one of them.
