أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أنبأ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنبأ حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ كَانَ لَا يُوَرِّثُ الْحَمِيلَ
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed Mu'adh ibn Jabal when sending him to Yemen: "You are going to a people who are People of the Book. Call them to testify that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah."
