أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْفَقِيهُ بِبَغْدَادَ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ نا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ نا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ نا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى نا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ جَمِيلَةَ بِنْتَ السَّلُولِ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي مَا أَعْتِبُ عَلَى ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ شِمَاسٍ فِي خُلُقٍ وَلَا دِينٍ وَلَكِنِّي لَا أُطِيقُهُ بُغْضًا وَأَكْرَهُ الْكُفْرَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ أَتَرُدِّينَ عَلَيْهِ حَدِيقَتَهُ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ مِنْهَا مَا سَاقَ إِلَيْهَا وَلَا يَزْدَادُ كَذَا
English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated that Jamilah bint al-Salul came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: 'By my father and mother, I do not fault Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas in his character or his religion, but I cannot bear him out of hatred, and I fear disbelief in Islam.' He said: 'Will you return to him his garden?' She said: 'Yes.' So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) commanded him to take from her what he had given her and no more.
