أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ غَالِبٍ الْخُوَارِزْمِيُّ الْحَافِظُ بِبَغْدَادَ نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَمْدَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ السَّرِيُّ نا مِنْجَابٌ أنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ اسْتَأْذَنَتْ هَالَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدٍ أُخْتُ خَدِيجَةَ عَلَى رَسُولِ ا��لهِ ﷺ فَعَرَفَ اسْتِئْذَانَ خَدِيجَةَ فَارْتَاعَ لِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ اللهُمَّ هَالَةُ فَغِرْتُ فَقُلْتُ مَا تَذْكُرُ مِنْ عَجُوزٍ مِنْ عَجَائِزِ قُرَيْشٍ حَمْرَاءَ الشِّدْقَيْنِ هَلَكَتْ فِي الدَّهْرِ قَدْ أَبْدَلَكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا مِنْهَا
English Translation
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Halah bint Khuwaylid, the sister of Khadijah, sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He recognized the manner of Khadijah's seeking permission and was startled by it. He said: 'O Allah, Halah!' I became jealous and said: 'Why do you remember an old woman from the old women of Quraysh, red-gummed, who perished long ago? Allah has replaced her with someone better for you.'
