كَمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمُقْرِئُ ابْنُ الْحَمَامِيِّ بِبَغْدَادَ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ نا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ نا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ نا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى قَرَظَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَأَبِي مَسْعُودٍ وَذَكَرَ ثَالِثًا قَالَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ ذَهَبَ عَلَيَّ وَجَوَارِي يَضْرِبْنَ بِالدُّفِّ وَيُغَنِّينَ فَقُلْتُ تُقِرُّونَ عَلَى هَذَا وَأَنْتُمْ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ؟ قَالُوا إِنَّهُ قَدْ رَخَّصَ لَنَا فِي الْعُرُسَاتِ وَالنِّيَاحَةِ عِنْدَ الْمُصِيبَةِ وَرَوَاهُ شَرِيكٌ بِمَعْنَاهُ وَذَكَرَ قَرَظَةَ وَأَبَا مَسْعُودٍ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَفِي الْبُكَاءِ عِنْدَ الْمُصِيبَةِ قَالَ شَرِيكٌ أُرَاهُ قَالَ فِي غَيْرِ نَوْحٍ
English Translation
Abu al-Hasan Ali bin Ahmad al-Muqri ibn al-Hamami informed us in Baghdad... from Amir bin Sa'd al-Bajali, who said: I entered upon Qarazah bin Ka'b and Abu Mas'ud - and he mentioned a third whose name escaped Abd al-Malik - and there were young girls beating the tambourine and singing. I said: Do you approve of this while you are Companions of Muhammad (peace be upon him)? They said: He permitted us singing at weddings and mourning at times of calamity without wailing. Sharik narrated it similarly and mentioned Qarazah and Abu Mas'ud, except that he said: And weeping at times of calamity. Sharik said: I think he said: Without wailing.
