أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ أنا نَصْرُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ أَبُو الْحَارِثِ الْوَرَّاقُ نا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ أَنَّ غُلَامًا مِنَ الْكُتَّابِ حَذَقَ فَأَمَرَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ فَاشْتَرَى لِصِبْيَانِهِ بِدِرْهَمٍ جَوْزًا وَكَرِهَ النُّهْبَى
English Translation
Abu Tahir the jurist and Abu Sa'id bin Abi Amr informed us... from Khalid bin Sa'd, that a boy from among the students completed his studies (memorized his lesson), and Abu Mas'ud ordered that walnuts worth a dirham be bought for his children. He disliked plundering (scattering things for people to scramble for).
