أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْأَرْدَسْتَانِيُّ أنا أَبُو نَصْرٍ الْعِرَاقِيُّ أنبأ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا وَابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ قَالَا لَيْسَ عَلَى مُؤْتَمَنٍ ضَمَانٌ وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ شُرَيْحٍ لَيْسَ عَلَى الْمُسْتَوْدَعِ غَيْرِ الْمُغِلِّ ضَمَانٌ وَرُوِيَ فِي ذَلِكَ حَدِيثٌ مُسْنَدٌ بِإِسْنَادٍ ضَعِيفٍ
English Translation
Ali and Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them) said: 'There is no liability upon one who is entrusted (a trustee).' And it was narrated from Shurayh: 'There is no liability upon a trustee who does not embezzle.' And a musnad hadith was narrated regarding this, but with a weak chain.
