English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud said: Being killed in the cause of Allah expiates every sin except the trust. The one who betrayed a trust will be brought, even if he was killed in the cause of Allah, and it will be said to him: 'Fulfill your trust.' He will say: 'O Lord, the world has gone, how can I fulfill it?' It will be said: 'Take him to the Abyss (al-Hawiyah).' When he reaches the bottom of the Abyss, his trust will be depicted for him as it was on the day it was given to him. He will carry it on his neck and climb up through the Fire. When he thinks he has escaped, it will fall back down and he will fall after it for all eternity. Then Abdullah recited: 'Indeed, Allah commands you to return trusts to their owners' [An-Nisa 58].
