وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا ؓ أُتِيَ بِالْمُسْتَوْرِدِ الْعِجْلِيِّ فَقَتَلَهُ وَجَعَلَ مِيرَاثَهُ لِأَهْلِهِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَأَعْطَاهُ النَّصَارَى بِجِيفَتِهِ ثَلَاثِينَ أَلْفًا فَأَبَى أَنْ يَبِيعَهُمْ إِيَّاهُ وَأَحْرَقَهُ
English Translation
Abu al-Husayn ibn Bishran informed us: Isma'il ibn Muhammad al-Saffar narrated to us: Bishr ibn Musa narrated to us: al-Humaydi narrated from Sufyan: Sulayman narrated to us from Abu Amr al-Shaybani that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought al-Mustawrid al-Ijli. He killed him and assigned his inheritance to his Muslim relatives, then offered the Christians his corpse for thirty thousand, but refused to sell it to them and burned it.
