وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ فُورَكٍ أنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ عَنْ مُجَاهِدِ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ مَوْلًى لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تُوُفِّيَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَا هُنَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ قَرْيَتِهِ؟ فَقَالُوا نَعَمْ فَأَعْطَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِيرَاثَهُ وَهَذَا يَحْتَمِلُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَوْلًى لَهُ بِغَيْرِ الْعِتَاقِ فَلَمْ يَأْخُذْ مِيرَاثَهُ وَجَعَلَهُ فِي أَهْلِ قَرْيَتِهِ عَلَى طَرِيقِ الْمَصْلَحَةِ
English Translation
Abu Bakr ibn Furak informed us: Abdullah ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us: Abu Dawud narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Asbahani from Mujahid ibn Wardan from Urwah from Aisha that a freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) passed away, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Is there anyone here from the people of his village?' They said yes, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave him his inheritance. This may indicate that he was a freed slave by means other than manumission, so he did not take his inheritance but placed it with the people of his village as a matter of public interest.
