English Translation
Abu Sa'id informed us: Abu Abdullah narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Nasr narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Bakkar narrated to us: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Zinad narrated from his father from Kharijah ibn Zayd from his father: The granddaughters (son's daughters) are in the same position as daughters when there are no daughters. A single granddaughter gets one-half, and two or more get two-thirds. If there is a daughter who has taken one-half, the granddaughter gets one-sixth to complete the two-thirds, regardless of whether there is one or more. If the two-thirds have been taken by the daughters, the granddaughters get nothing unless there is a male among the grandchildren at their level or below, in which case the remainder is divided among them with the male getting double the female's share.
