أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ثنا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُدَيْرٍ عَنِ السُّمَيْطِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ قَالَ أَتَى عَلَيَّ زَمَانٌ مَا أَدْرِي مَا الْكَلَالَةُ وَإِذِ الْكَلَالَةُ مَنْ لَا أَبَ لَهُ وَلَا وَلَدَ
English Translation
Abu Sa'id ibn Abi Amr informed us: Abu Abdullah ibn Ya'qub narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Nasr narrated to us: Abd al-A'la narrated to us: Hammad narrated from Imran ibn Hudayr from al-Sumayt ibn Umayr: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: There came a time when I did not know what kalalah was, and indeed kalalah is one who has no father and no child.
