وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا يَحْيَى ثنا يَزِيدُ أنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ خِلَاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا رَمَى بِحَجَرٍ فَأَصَابَ أُمَّهُ فَمَاتَتْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَرَادَ نَصِيبَهُ مِنْ مِيرَاثِهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ إِخْوَتُهُ لَا حَقَّ لَكَ فَارْتَفَعُوا إِلَى عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ حَظُّكَ مِنْ مِيرَاثِهَا الْحَجَرُ وَأَغْرَمَهُ الدِّيَةَ وَلَمْ يُعْطِهِ مِنْ مِيرَاثِهَا شَيْئًا
English Translation
Abu Abdullah informed us: Abu al-Abbas narrated to us: Yahya narrated to us: Yazid informed us: Sa'id ibn Abi Arubah narrated from Qatadah from Khilas: A man threw a stone and it struck his mother, and she died from it. He wanted his share of her inheritance, but his brothers said: You have no right. They took the matter to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Ali said to him: Your share of her inheritance is the stone. He made him pay the blood money and did not give him anything from her inheritance.
