حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا جَلَسَ قَوْمٌ مَجْلِسًا لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا فِيهِ رَبَّهُمْ وَيُصَلُّوا فِيهِ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا كَانَ عَلَيْهِمْ تِرَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنْ شَاءَ آخَذَهُمْ بِهِ وَإِنْ شَاءَ عَفَا عَنْهُمْ حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا اجْتَمَعَ قَوْمٌ فَذَكَرَهُ.
English Translation
'Abd al-Rahman told us, from Sufyan, from Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "No people sit in a gathering in which they do not remember their Lord and invoke blessings upon their Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, without it being a cause of grief for them on the Day of Resurrection; if He wishes He may take them to task for it, and if He wishes He may forgive them." Mu'ammal told us: Sufyan told us, from Salih ibn Nabhan, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No people gather..." and he mentioned the like of it.
