English Translation
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn 'Amr, who said: Abu Salamah narrated to me, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: 'Whoever performs the funeral prayer over a deceased person will have one qirat [of reward] recorded for him, and if he follows it until the burial is completed, he will have two qirats, the smaller of which — or one of which — is like [the mountain of] Uhud.' This reached Ibn 'Umar and he found it enormous, so he sent to 'A'ishah, and she said: 'Abu Hurayrah has spoken the truth.' Ibn 'Umar said: 'We have indeed missed out on many qirats.'
