حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ يَعْنِي الْجُرَيْرِيَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ الْوَتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَرَكْعَتَيْ الضُّحَى وَصَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ.
English Translation
Muhammad told us: Shu'bah told us, and Abu Dawud told us: Shu'bah informed us, from Abbas - meaning al-Jurayri - who said: I heard Abu Uthman narrate from Abu Hurairah, who said: "My beloved friend enjoined upon me three things: the witr prayer before sleeping, the two rak'ahs of Duha, and fasting three days of every month."
