English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from Ata' ibn Abi Maymunah, who said: I heard Abu Rafi' narrate from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that Zaynab's name had been Barrah, and it was said, "She is attesting to her own purity." So the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, named her Zaynab.
