English Translation

Hajjaj told us: Layth told us: Uqayl told me, from Ibn Shihab, that he was asked about a man who combines in marriage a woman and her father's maternal aunt, or a woman and her mother's maternal aunt, or a woman and her father's paternal aunt, or a woman and her mother's paternal aunt. He said: Qabisah ibn Dhu'ayb said: I heard Abu Hurairah say: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade combining in marriage a woman and her maternal aunt, and a woman and her paternal aunt. So we consider her mother's maternal aunt and her mother's paternal aunt to be in that same category, and if it is through fosterage, it likewise falls into that same category.
