English Translation
Waki' told us, he said: Ali ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Maymunah, from Abu Hurayrah: A woman came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, whose husband had divorced her, and she wanted to take her child. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Let the two of you draw lots for him." The man said: "Who would come between me and my son?" So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to the boy: "Choose whichever of them you wish." He chose his mother, so she took him away.
