حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى أُمِّ بُرْثُنٍ حَدَّثَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا فَاخْتَلَفُوا وَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ فَلِلْيَهُودِ غَدٌ وَلِلنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ.
English Translation
Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah prescribed Friday for those who came before us, but they differed about it. Allah guided us to it. So the people follow us in it: for the Jews is tomorrow (Saturday) and for the Christians is the day after tomorrow (Sunday)."
