English Translation
Abu Hurayrah narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: "There is no owner of treasure who does not pay its zakah except that it will be brought on the Day of Resurrection along with his treasure, and plates will be heated in the Fire of Hell and his forehead, side, and back will be branded with them until Allah judges between His servants on a day whose measure is fifty thousand years of what you count. Then he will be shown his way, either to Paradise or to the Fire. And there is no owner of camels who does not pay their zakah except that they will be brought on the Day of Resurrection in the best condition, and he will be made to lie on a flat plain. They will trample him; whenever the last of them has passed, the first of them will return, until Allah judges between His servants on a day whose measure is fifty thousand years of what you count. Then he will be shown his way, either to Paradise or to the Fire. And there is no owner of sheep who does not pay their zakah except that they will be brought on the Day of Resurrection in the best condition, and he will be made to lie on a flat plain. They will trample him with their hooves and gore him with their horns; whenever the last of them has passed, the first of them will return, until Allah judges between His servants on a day whose measure is fifty thousand years of what you count. Then he will be shown his way, either to Paradise or to the Fire. It was asked: O Messenger of Allah, what about horses? He said: Horses have good tied to their forelocks until the Day of Resurrection. Horses are of three types: for one man they are a reward, for another they are a covering, and for another they are a burden. As for the one for whom they are a reward, it is the one who keeps them for the cause of Allah; whatever they consume is a reward for him. If they gallop a lap or two, he will have a reward for every step. If he brings them to a river and they drink, he will have a reward for every drop they consume, until he mentioned the reward even in their dung and urine. As for the one for whom they are a covering, it is the man who keeps them for self-sufficiency, dignity, and honor, and does not forget their rights of service in hardship and ease. As for the one for whom they are a burden, it is the man who keeps them out of pride, showing off, and boastfulness. It was asked: O Messenger of Allah, what about donkeys? He said: Nothing has been revealed to me about them except this comprehensive and unique verse: 'Whoever does an atom's weight of good shall see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil shall see it.'"
