حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَزْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ، سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ، هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا.
English Translation
It was narrated from ‘Abd Khair. I heard Hadrat 'Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him) say: Shall I not tell you of the best of this ummah after the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)? It is Hadrat Abu Bakr and ʼUmar (رضي الله عنهما) .
