حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَوْدَاءَ أَوْ رَجُلًا كَانَ يَقُمُّ الْمَسْجِدَ فَفَقْدَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ فَقَالُوا مَاتَ فَقَالَ أَلَا كُنْتُمْ آذَنْتُمُونِي بِهِ قَالُوا إِنَّهُ كَانَ لَيْلًا قَالَ فَقَالَ دُلُّونِي عَلَى قَبْرِهِ فَدَلُّوهُ فَأَتَى قَبْرَهُ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
A black woman - or a man - used to sweep the mosque. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) noticed their absence and asked about them. They said: "They died." He said: "Why did you not inform me?" They said: "It was during the night." He said: "Show me their grave." So they showed him, and he went to the grave and prayed over it.
