حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ دُلَّنِي عَلَى عَمَلٍ إِذَا عَمِلْتُهُ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ تَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَتُؤَدِّي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ وَتَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَا أَزِيدُ عَلَى هَذَا شَيْئًا أَبَدًا وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِنْهُ فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى هَذَا.
English Translation
A Bedouin came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, guide me to a deed that, if I do it, I will enter Paradise." He said: "You worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, you establish the prescribed prayer, you pay the obligatory zakat, and you fast Ramadan." The man said: "By the One in Whose Hand is Muhammad's soul, I will not add anything to this nor reduce anything from it." When he turned away, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever wishes to look at a man from the people of Paradise, let him look at this man."
