قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الزِّنَادِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ أَنْصِتْ فَقَدْ لَغَيْتَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ قَالَ أَبُو الزِّنَادِ هِيَ لُغَةُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Were it not that I would burden my ummah, I would have ordered them to use the miswak (tooth-stick) before every prayer.'
