حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبِكْرُ تُسْتَأْمَرُ وَالثَّيِّبُ تُشَاوَرُ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْبِكْرَ تَسْتَحِي قَالَ سُكُوتُهَا رِضَاهَا.
English Translation
Hushaym told us, from Umar ibn Abi Salamah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The virgin is to be consulted, and the previously married woman is to be asked her opinion. It was said: O Messenger of Allah, the virgin feels shy. He said: Her silence is her consent.
